Chris Oldford, Principal at St. Patrick Catholic School, Chosen as One of Canada’s Outstanding Principals 2018
The Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario is pleased to announce that Chris Oldford, Principal of St. Patrick Catholic School in Rockland, has been named as one of forty exceptional educational leaders from across Canada.
Candidates are nominated by their peers, school staff, and community members annually to The Learning Partnership, who recognizes exemplary leaders from across all Canadian provinces and territories.
“Chris Oldford is an outstanding instructional leader who inspires his staff to share his belief in the ability of all students to succeed,” explains his bio. “He has been very effective at strategically thinking about, and building a coherent vision with his staff toward setting direction and achieving high expectations and goals. Chris engages and motivates his staff to work together, and to strive to use new and innovative strategies to achieve excellence within the classroom. He is committed to change, and skillfully models, supports and challenges his team to take on ambitious and achievable goals in focusing on new instructional practices.”

Through these opportunities we foster the relationships that build our community, and it is through these relationships among students, families, parish, and our school, that each student can meet their full potential.”

Now celebrating its 14th year, The Learning Partnership’s Canada’s Outstanding Principals program recognizes the unique and vital contribution of principals in publicly funded schools. The 40 principals are being celebrated for demonstrating innovation, leadership and for employing creativity in finding solutions and opportunities within their school communities. They will be awarded for their accomplishments at the annual Canada’s Outstanding Principals Gala on February 27, at The Carlu in Toronto.
