Eye See… Eye Learn: Ensuring Visual Health for Children
Each year, thousands of children start school without ever having an eye exam, potentially impacting their learning and development. That’s where the Eye See… Eye Learn® program comes in, offering vital support for young learners.
This program is available to children who are in any junior or senior kindergarten program. To participate, the eye exam must be with a participating optometrist. Eye exams for children ages 0-19 are covered annually by OHIP in Ontario. If required, Eye See… Eye Learn® will provide one pair of glasses per child, valued at over $350.
Early eye exams are crucial. They ensure your child’s eyes are developing properly and can catch issues like lazy eye, which is fully correctable if treated early. Eye exams also help children succeed academically and socially by ensuring they can see the board, follow words in a book, and participate in physical activities.
