MPP John Jordan Visits Sacred Heart, Lanark
Today, students at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic School in Lanark participated in the Community Outreach Program through the Legislative Assembly of Ontario. The program is unique and interactive and focuses on Ontario’s Parliament, how parliament works, governance, roles and responsibilities, the importance of civic engagement, and who’s who at the Legislature.
The students then received a visit from Lanark-Frontenac-Kingston MPP John Jordan, who talked about his role as an MPP, and answered questions from the students. Trustee Jennifer Cooney and Director of Education Laurie Corrigan were also in attendance.
After the visit, students held a debate similar to one that might be held in parliament.
Many thanks to MPP Jordan for visiting the students and enriching their learning about the Ontario Legislature!
